Street Lights

In May of 2005, the Town of Mills River began a street-lighting project by installing lights at the intersections of Highway 280 (Boylston Highway), Old Turnpike Road, and Schoolhouse Road; and at the intersection of Highway 191 (Haywood Road) and Banner Farm Road. The Town maintains street lights at heavily travelled intersections and makes monthly payments to Duke Energy for their use.

The Town is gradually adding additional lights at key intersections and along more dangerous stretches of road. To obtain a street light in your neighborhood, contact Town Hall.  A list is compiled, priorities set, and additional lighting added as funding allows.
